Slabs are poured

Although the pour went into the darkness and we finished by headlights, we were able to come back Saturday morning and finish the tops while they were still green.

Ready to Pour

All the forms are finished and the concrete should be here this afternoon

Forming in the desert cold

The plywood forms are taking shape quickly and the first two are placed, leveled and we are starting the steel. It won't be all ready until late tomorrow but by Friday we should be ready to pour concrete.

Excavation passes

The city inspector passed the excavation work with removal of some loose dirt. The labor crew arrived and formwork began.

Moving the Dirt

After evaluating subcontractors, the excavation crew arrived to start scraping away where the surveyors had marked. Monday the excavation work should be ready for inspection.

Getting the Permit

After a visit in person to the building department, the final fee was calculated, a check promised by Fedex and the permit was approved. After consultation with the developer, potential subs were identified and some contacted. By tomorrow the permit/drawings can be picked up, copies made and bids solicited
